PLAYSETS FAQ'S
Absolutely! Our playsets are constructed in Orrville, Ohio by an Amish builder named Alvin Miller. Alvin and his family are Old Order Amish and use no electricity except that which they can generate by themselves. Alvin is the son-in-law of Levi Schlabach, who is the founder of their business. Levi started the playset and furniture business in 1976 and has supported his family since by providing quality products at a competitive price.
Yes, all our FUNTime Playsets come with an 8 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY on all stained wooden components and a 2 year limited warranty on accessories. This warranty does not cover any surface cracks (checks) or fading which are natural characteristics of pressure treated pine.
Yes, but first things first! Typically, we ask that you visit one of our stores, design a playset with one of our associates, and get a quote. At that point, if you are still uncertain about the size or placement in your yard, we will make an appointment to visit your property and give you our opinion.
No, most of our playsets are not anchored to the ground. They are very solid and are designed to accommodate many children and family members. In some rare cases, with custom sets we may elect to add anchors. Also, anchors can be purchased for an additional cost.
We use Durapine by Cox; a top-grade Wolmanized® lumber which incorporates premium non-arsenic based treatment against termites and fungal decay, both above ground and in ground. Durapine has become the most successful alternative to CCA treated wood and is ideal for multiple residential and industrial applications. Cox Durapine products treated with copper azole (CA) are recognized for their durability, extended life and corrosion resistance, making Durapine a wise choice for lasting solutions.
Yes, we recommend applying a good quality outdoor stain or sealer that is designed to protect pressure treated lumber.
Stain it right away. We use Top-Grade pressure treated lumber that has already been dried and is ready to stain.
Yes! All our FUNTime Playsets come Pre-Stained with Woodwright Waterproof Sealer. We use a dip-tank method which ensures 100% coverage of the lumber for an even finish and maximum protection.
Yes, your site needs to be level. Because playsets have hanging items such as swings, trapeze bars, etc., it is quite evident to the eye when a playset is not level. If your site is not level prior to our installers arriving, you may elect to have us continue with the installation but we will not accept responsibility for any issues that arise due to an unlevel site.
Although a number of our customers choose to have their playset installed right on their grass, we highly recommend preparing the site with a material such as pea gravel or rubber mulch. This medium provides a safety cushion in case your child should fall. It is also far easier to maintain than trimming grass around the posts, slides, etc.
No, we do not offer site preparation services through Amish Yard. However, we do keep contact with a number of landscapers that we can recommend to you. Please ask your sales associate for more information.
